Job Description
We are looking for a high calibre software developer who will be motivated to produce and contribute to software and systems for National Security.
The successful candidate will be able to develop high-quality software applications as part of a team. As we develop a blend of desktop and web applications, an ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate a breadth of experience in developing applications in different technologies, or very strong in one particular relevant area.
There is ample opportunity to grow and progress through the business, learning new skills and diversifying in role with potential opportunities for international travel. The list of desirable skills is not exhaustive, or all essential, but indicates the kind of capabilities we are seeking.
This is a permanent, full-time role, based in our offices in the UK, near Northampton. Due to location would be preferable for the candidate to hold a full driving license.
Salary range £45-65k.
Duties to include:
- Full-Stack development. Ability to build high-performance and scalable solutions using both Frontend and Backend technologies
- Integrate our products with third-party APIs
- Contribute to all phases of software development lifecycle
- Work closely with both software team lead and QA Engineer
Required Skills / Experience
- Experienced C++/C# developer (minimum 5 years)
- Experienced in SQL, HTTP, JSON, FTP, WPF
- Real-time programming (of software to process live incoming data)
- Understanding of networking protocols and OSI model
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, frameworks and research areas
Desirable experience
- Deep working understanding of VoIP/SIP/RTP/RTSP/TCP/UDP
- Experience developing with any of SS7, DIAMETER, VoLTE, SCTP, streamed video
- Experience developing in Unreal Engine (primarily C++ backend)
- Experience developing in CUDA and AI
- Experience with GStreamer, FFmpeg, WebRTC and hardware accelerated video-pipelines
- Experience with MSSQL and large databases, HTML, Fluent 2
- Experience with IoT and edge-device integration, distributed systems and event-driven
architecture - Knowledge and familiarity with cellular telecoms networks
- Experience or knowledge of software defined radio programming and development such as
Python, Matlab, DSP, and IQ processing - Experience in working in an Agile development team
